Great program. Using it on a EQ6 mount with SynScan

I am using it on an EQ6 SynScan system.. Just plug in telephone jack from Skywire to SynScan .. Plug in Skywire to iOS device Turn on mount .. Initialize SynScan go through basic setup if you want on SynScan and you are done .. You dont have to connect to PC in utilities . Just press a star on your iPad or IPhone and it slews right to it.. Sweet

Awesome

Perfect for learning the stars and DSO

Great "At the Scope" App

This was a great buy. Perfect companion for my Starry Night program on my PC. Great user interface and very simple to setup and use. Very configurable to your individual needs. Well done.

One for all

You will need this app only for all of your astro needs.

Quantum leap from ver. 4 to 5

The display is dramatically improved. The actual choice of object selection is easier to access. This app is worth its price. When changing from ver 4 to 5 I was not informed how to use my data. So I had re-write my favorite objects again.

Rebranding

As an owner of of Safary 4 pro, i am not happy of this paid upgrade

The best planetarium app ever

The title says it all

Great app!

Highly recommended. Helpful while searching DSOs

The best app for they who love The Stars!

Good! Add textures for dwarf planets too, plz!

Simply the best

Just few words to say that SkySafari 5 Pro is actually the best portable solution for a complete amateur astronomer. You get everything about any celestial body a serious skysurfer needs. In larger screens, this app becomes a quite good field star atlas, thanks to the night vision. One only bad issue: the notification sound about events cannot be changed. Hope itll be fixed.

The Cosmos is yours!

"This adventure is made possible by generations of searchers strictly adhering to a simple set of rules. Test ideas by experiments and observations. Build on those ideas that pass the test. Reject the ones that fail. Follow the evidence wherever it leads, and question everything. Accept these terms, and the cosmos is yours." – Neil deGrasse Tyson

Settings have been changed

The telescope mount has to be set before the new FOV is active. Great application

Bugs

New version keeps changing magnitude limits on stars and deep sky. Has something to do with clicking on objects in sky.

Amazing Astronomy App!

More info than you will ever need. Very accurate! Ive seen ISS fly over using data from other sources however, by using this app I was able to watch Iridium 68 rise and flare for the first time in my life. Controlling your telescope with the app is what sold me but you can do so many other things with this. Just buy the app already!

Bad Update to Overpriced App

There are no Planetary Surfaces after update. While SkySarari is one of the best astronomy apps out there, I dont believe that version 4 was $40 better than version 3, or that version 5 was $40 better than version 4. I strongly resent their upgrade strategy.

Best iOS Astronomy App by Far

Ive been using this app along with the SkyFi or the SkyWire accessory to control my C8 SCT for over 2 years. At the Okie-Tex Star Party for the last two years Ive seen more deep-sky wonders than in my whole amateur "career". The app lets me easily see whats visible at any date of interest. This comes in handy for planning observing sessions in advance. I heartily recommend SkySafari to all astronomers! ~Don Thats my earlier review of SkySafari and I fully agree with that review now. The current update has added some neat, new features — like being able to search for features on the moon & planets and new map of Mars. Really helpful at the eyepiece now that Mars is in opposition. Im now using SS 5 Pro to control my CPC 1100 and it works beautifully. More, better, gooder!! ~Don

Great app...poor update

Seems the update (that took over three hours to d/l) broke the planetary images. Ruined my Mars party! Also kindly fix the night sky color ... prefer black and not indigo.

Amazingly powerful

Sky Safari Pro has capabilities normally only found in desktop computer software. It has easy to use features to see whats up in the sky now (and helps identify objects) as well as listing what will be up later or even events in the coming week. But it also has advanced object search capabilities as well. I use its equipment list and field of view overlays to help my plan imaging. Its also able to control my telescope mount via the optional SkyFi module. I used to drag a laptop out, but Sky Safari Pro handles most of what the laptop would have done.

Excellent!

I use this app in conjunction with the Mac app and it is excellent. Observing lists I create or edit on one device are immediately updated on another, as are equipment lists and other settings. And of course you can run your GOTO from it. Try the basic version ($2.99) to see if you like the layout. I tried Celestron Sky Portal, GoSkyWatch, Stellarium Mobile Sky Watch and Sky Guide. SkySafari 5 is better.

Great!

Great app for control of my scope.
